An Indiana man is facing up to eight years in prison for a deadly head-on collision two years ago that claimed a mother and two children and left two others permanently disabled.

On Friday, the driver of the car responsible for the accident admitted he was speeding when his car left the center lane and caused the crash.

"It's a case where three people were killed and two additional [victims] have lost their lives. They have no chance for independent lives and will essentially be in a nursing home for the rest of their lives."

An Indiana judge can impose a sentence from two to eight years in prison for reckless homicide.
