An Indianapolis woman has been cited for driving without insurance and driving with a fake license plate, following a car accident Saturday night on Richmond’s west side.

According to police reports, the accident happened just after 8:30 p.m. when the woman, 24, ran a red light on north West Fifth Street and crashed into another motorist that was traveling east on West Main Street.

Her Chevrolet Monte Carlo struck the passenger side of the Ford Escort pushing the vehicle into the front yard of a nearby home, totaling the car.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, authorities said, but a crew treated two infant children that were in the Monte Carlo at the time of the crash. The driver of the Escort had no passengers.

Police impounded the Monte Carlo.
