A Jay County school bus, a semi-truck and three other vehicles were involved in a car accident this morning just after 7 a.m. No one was seriously injured in the accident, according to Indiana State Police.

The accident occurred when the driver of a semi-truck rear-ended a van. The van then struck an SUV and the SUV rear-ended another car which then struck a Jay County School bus that was transporting nineteen students, according to Jay School Corporation Superintendent.

Two students were transported to Jay County Hospital for minor injuries suffered in the accident and four people involved in the accident were transported to nearby hospitals.

Parents were allowed to examine their children prior to deciding whether to send them to school or keep them home for the remainder of the day.

The semi-truck driver was cited for following too close and for an expired annual inspection on the trailer, according to Indiana State Police.
