An Indianapolis teen, 17, was arrested after veering off the road in a stolen vehicle and striking not one, but two houses on the Southeast side, according to authorities.

No one was home at the damaged residence at the time of the crash, said Capt. Rita Reith, a spokesman for the Indianapolis Fire Department.

The teen was spotted by firefighters while at a gas station at stop 11 Road and Arlington Avenue just after 9:16 a.m. Upon noticing that he looked intoxicated, the firefighters informed police and followed the vehicle at a distance.

The boy, speeding as he left veered off the road, struck a car, then crossed the road and drove through a chain-link fence in the 6100 block of Connie Court, about a quarter-mile from the gas station, said Lt. Jeff Duhamell, a spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The teen was taken to the hospital but he was not injured. So far, he faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a stolen vehicle and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
