Two people were sent to the hospital on Friday night following a two-car accident on Indiana 43, just after 6 p.m.

A GMC truck and an SUV were traveling north on Indiana 43 when the crash occurred, according to a deputy of the Tippecanoe County Sherriff’s Department.

Traveling south on Indiana 43, a Chevrolet 43 crossed into the northbound lane. The SUV was able to leave the road in time to avoid striking the car, but the Malibu struck the pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the Malibu suffered a broken leg. It was unknown if he also suffered other injuries as well. The driver of the pick-up truck left the scene of the accident on his own, with no apparent injuries.

Both drivers were transported to St. Elizabeth medical Center.
