KOMAN Sportswear, in cooperation with the CPSC announced a voluntary recall of Boys Hooded Sweatshirts and Warm Up Sets sold nationwide at Burlington Coat Factory.

The sweatshirts and jackets to the warm up sets have drawstrings through the hoods, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets or sweatshirts.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injuries associated with the recalled items.

The recall includes boy’s hooded sweatshirt Style No. 3650-B in various colors; faux suede warm up sets Style No. B9560ST.

Consumers should remove the drawstrings from the items to eliminate hazard, or return the item to any Burlington Coat Factory for store credit or a refund.
