Lenovo, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling AC Adaptors used with ThinkVision Soundbars because the outer shell of the adapter can crack, posing a shock hazard to consumers.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injury related to the recall.

Included in the recall are AC Adaptors sold by Lenovo, as part of the ThinkVision Soundbar option. The FRU part number 89P8571 with a date code of 200810 can be found on the back of the product.

The recalled adaptors were sold nationwide on Lenovo’s Web sites, direct and telephone sale and authorized deals from October 2008 through January 2009.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately and to contact Lenovo for a free replacement part.
