Train And Car Collide; Driver In Serious Condition

A collision between a car and train has landed the driver in the hospital in serious condition.

The accident happened on Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Warman Ave. and Jackson Street on the city’s west side.

The driver, Richard Bault, 44, of Addison, was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. He was awake and breathing when police arrived on the scene.

The driver was transported to Wishard Hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Warman Avenue is expected to remained closed until 10:30 or later following the accident, to allow officials time to get the vehicle moved and the train tracks inspected. #
