Woman Files Medical Malpractice Suit Against Podiatrist

On July 11, a Beaumont woman filed a medical malpractice lawsuit, in Jefferson County District Court, against the podiatrist who operated on her foot, alleging the doctor failed to warn her of the risk associated with the surgery.
The suit claims the woman now suffers from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a condition, she claims is the result of foot surgery that she had more than two years ago by Dr. Christopher Browning, according to court papers.
The suit alleges the doctor is negligent for failing to warn her of the dangers resulting from (his) incompetent treatment.
The suit seeks damages for past and future medical expenses, pain, loss of earnings, impairment, and mental anguish, loss of household services, disfigurement and fear of future disease as well as exemplary damages.
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome is a condition that includes the following symptoms: pain, tenderness and swelling of an extremity. Trauma and surgery are known to trigger the condition.
