Terre Haute Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

A Terre Haute man, 44, was killed in a motorcycle accident early Saturday morning and two others were injured.

The accident happened when a vehicle pulled into his path near Ash Street.

Tim Rice, 44, died at the scene. Derrick Burdette, 25, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital. And John Campbell, 39, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

The two men were part of a group of riding motorcycles when their bikes struck a parked car, According to Det. David Thompson of the Terre Haute City Police Department.

Police are investigating the crash and refused to comment on whether drugs or alcohol were suspected.
