Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, in Warsaw, is being sued by a Winona Lake minor and his father for negligence, after the minor allegedly suffered an injury when he slipped on a patch of ice outside the establishment, writes the Times-Union.

On February 9, 2008, the minor approached the entrance of the restaurant where he encountered a slick patch of ice on the sidewalk, which caused his foot to slip and severely twist his ankle.

The suit alleges that the restaurant "failed to maintain its sidewalk area in a manner that provides a safe environment for customers who are entering and leaving the restaurant" and "that the (restaurant's) breach of its duty to provide customers safe ingress and egress was the direct cause of (Chase Townsend's) fall on Feb. 9, 2008."

The suit seeks $29,000 for medical expenses along with damages for pain and suffering, future medical expenses and permanency of injury.
