A man has settled a personal injury lawsuit against Lowe’s Home Center in Alton for an undisclosed amount.

The accident allegedly occurred on September 14, 2007, when he was injured in a slip and fall accident after he tripped and fell face first on a piece of plywood in the store.

A Madison County Circuit Court Judge signed off on the settlement on October 2. The case was filed on August 12.

The case claimed the company was negligent by failing to have a routine and proper inspection, allowing plywood to remain on the floor in a high traffic area where customers walk, failure to restock plywood and failing to warn that the plywood was on the floor.

He alleged he suffered injuries to his neck, lower back and other areas of his body which continues to cause pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses.
