Woman Suing Local Grocery Store In Slip and Fall

A personal injury lawsuit has been filed against a local grocery store in Kanawha County after for a slip and fall accident that caused a woman to suffer a head injury.

The lawsuit, filed on August 1, in Kanawha Circuit Court, was filed against Bigley Market (DBA Foodland).

According to court documents the woman went to the store located on Bigley Avenue, in Charleston, on August 5, 2006. While in the store shopping, she slipped and fell on spilled liquid on the floor. She alleges she hit her head in the fall.

The suit claims her medical bills have been in excess of $19,000. The lawsuit seeks compensation for her medical bills as well as other unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
