Motorcyclist Killed in Accident with Tractor-Trailer

An Indiana motorcyclist, 44, was killed when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer truck on the city's south side, according to Indiana State Police.

The truck – motorcycle accident happened on Tuesday, just before 4:30 p.m. at 23rd and Iowa Streets. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Clinton parkway when the truck, traveling westbound on 23rd, turned south onto Iowa Street, according to police.

The intersection was closed for over six hours following the accident. State police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

This crash is the second fatality to happen in three days in Lawrence. On Saturday night, a man, 66, was killed when his moped crashed with a city bus near 6th and Arkansas Streets.
