Police are reviewing cell phone records to see if being on the phone caused an Insight Communications driver to swerve and crash head-on into a Mack truck, in a trucking accident Thursday.

The driver, 45, died at Wishard Memorial Hospital following the accident which occurred at 10:30 a.m.

An accident eyewitness told The Noblesville Ledger that she approached the truck and found Cooper pinned against the dashboard of the Insight Communications van, clutching a cell phone.

"We'll pull his cell-phone records to see if he was on the phone before the crash," Noblesville Police said Friday, adding that due to the condition of the van it's unlikely he was conscious after the impact with the Republic Services of Indiana truck.

When the technician crashed with the Republic truck that transports industrial sized trash containers, the impact spun the van facing the opposite direction. The truck stopped 150 feet from the point of impact and debris was thrown across the road.

The truck driver, 38, of Indianapolis was treated for a leg injury. No other information is available at this time.
