A truck driver, 47, of Chicago, was killed in a trucking accident near Indianapolis this morning.

The tractor-trailer driver drifted off the highway and went down an embankment and struck some trees before going through a fence. A fence post flipped up, came through the truck's windshield and impaled the driver.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner's Office, according to Indiana State Police.

The accident is under investigation pending an autopsy and toxicology reports.

At this time officials believe driver fatigue may have been a factor in the crash as there were no signs of other vehicles being involved in the accident.
