Trucker Sentenced to 4 Years in Fatal Trucking Accident

A truck driver that could have faced up to 24 years in prison was sentenced to 4 years, Tuesday, for causing a truck accident that claimed the lives of five people.

The truck accident occurred on April 26, 2006 when his semi-trailer crashed with a Taylor University van. The driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel, according to authorities.

A school employee and four students were killed in the accident; five other people were injured.
